Rhonda L. Harmon, MD, FACS

Dr. Harmon is one of Central Florida’s foremost general surgeons specializing in advanced treatments for melanoma and other skin cancers. Many of the region’s top dermatologists refer their patients to her for consultation and advanced surgical interventions when a cancer diagnosis has been made. Working closely with a multidisciplinary team that includes medical oncologists and plastic surgeons, she is known for positive patient outcomes with minimized cosmetic impacts. Her specialties include the thorough excision of melanomas and other skin cancers with or without sentinel lymph node biopsy, partial and full-thickness skin grafting, subcutaneous lesion removal combined with reconstruction surgery, and minimally invasive techniques for addressing basal and squamous cell skin cancers.

A graduate of The Medical University of South Carolina, Dr. Harmon carried out her internship and residency training in general surgery at Washington Hospital Center in the nation’s capital, where she completed her tenure as Chief Resident. She is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons, a Diplomate of the American Board of Surgery and a member of the clinical faculty at the University of Central Florida and Florida State University medical schools.
