Matthew Biagioli, MD, MS

Dr. Biagioli is a board certified radiation oncologist who leads his field in the use of brachytherapy to successfully treat colorectal, gynecologic and urologic cancers. His award-winning research and clinical skills have yielded several patents for novel approaches to cancer therapies, including one for the use of an interstitial balloon for reproducible repositioning of brachytherapy applicators. He joined Florida Hospital Medical Group’s Radiation Oncology Specialists team from Tampa’s Moffitt Cancer Center, where he served as Clinical Director, Brachytherapy Service Chief and Gynecologic Oncology Service Chief in the Department of Radiation Oncology. Dr. Biagioli earned both his Master of Science and Medical Degree from the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston and completed his radiation oncology residency at the University of Miami. He completed a fellowship in brachytherapy at Beth Israel Medical Center in Boston.

As a physician who is dedicated to finding new and more effective ways of combating various forms of cancer, he has authored numerous scholarly articles and book chapters and presented his work in both national and international forums. He is also committed to helping train the best and brightest new physicians in the field of radiation oncology, and maintains active chair and committee positions in a variety of professional organizations, including the American Brachytherapy Society, American College of Radiology, American Radium Society and American Society for Therapeutic Radiology and Oncology.
